Pacha Mama at Electric Works art auction
This coming Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010, my largest painting, 'Pacha Mama', will be up for auction at Electric Works Gallery in San Francisco. The profits from the auction are to support the Center for Reproductive Rights. Pacha Mama is a very significant piece to me, not only because of the size, but also the content. The term 'Pacha Mama' means goddess or female spirit representing the earth as the giver of life; a fertility goddess. 'Pacha Mama' is 9ft tall by 6.5ft wide and done in acrylic and copper leaf on canvas and framed in a beautiful hard wood frame done by my sister, Margaretta. I am very honored to be donating this piece to such a great cause and would like to extend the invitation to join the auction and special conversation with Nancy Northup, the President of the Center for Reproductive Rights.
