New photos of Hells Bella ...

These beautiful photographs were taken by Randy Dodson, the staff photographer at Juxtapoz. This piece is really difficult to photograph because of the heavy gloss and different Kandy layers, but Randy captured it really nicely.

In Memory of Beksinski

I sat down with my glass of wine last night and opened up the new issue of Juxtapoz and found one of my most favorite artists of all time featured in it....Zdzislaw Beksinski .... he is a true inspiration in my life, so much so, that I had my whole left leg tattooed by Marcus Pacheco with the image of this Beksinki painting. Unfortunately the article also informed me that this prolific artist was murdered in 2005 , a very sad fact. He was quoted as saying...'I paint to leave something permanent after my death' ....I feel those are some fucking words to live by...so here's to the great Zdzislaw Beksinski

Amandalynn @ Shooting Gallery w/ Hells Belles

Today I dropped off one of my newest pieces at Shooting Gallery in SF, Ca. for the 4th Annual Helles Belles Car Club Derby and Art Auction. I painted the hood of a 1932 Model T with one of my newest images, 'Hell's Bella', she is painted all in catalyzed, polyurethane automotive paint and accented with some gold leaf touches. I am super stoked on this piece, as we have had this old hood sitting around the shop for years, and I finally had a good reason to make it beautiful. All proceeds from the Art Auction benefit The Bay Area Women's and Children's Center, SF.

Show takes place: Saturday, September 26th, 2009
Doors open at 6pm - Derby starts at 8pm sharp
Shooting Gallery, 839 Larkin St, San Francisco, CA

Crowning Glory opening reception recap

Tammy Talbot's Crowning Glory opening reception this past weekend in North Hollywood was a beautiful event. There was great art, food, drinks, flowers and people there. She worked really hard to create an incredible space and it seems like the perfect place for my 'Decisions' painting. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth checking out, the address is 11135 Weddington off of Lankershim, Noho, CA

LA Flower Mart

I woke up at 7am on Saturday morning and drove to the flower mart in downtown LA with Renee Fontana to pick up supplies for her living art creations that she was making for the Crowning Glory opening party that night. It is filled with some of the coolest flowers, feathers, rocks and do dads you could ever imagine. Walking around there with Renee was a blast, and so was watching her create these one of a kind floral displays. You can see more of her work at www.ReneeFontana.com
