Le Chat Noir opening at Modern Eden

I will be exhibiting a new piece this Saturday, October 18th, 2014 at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, CA. The title of the show is Le Chat Noir, and it is an invitational group exhibition inspired by La Belle Époque. In particular, imagery inspired by Steinlen’s iconic Le Chat Noir poster art. The month of October also presents a unique opportunity for participating artists to explore the historic influence of the black cat in this, a distinctly Parisian way.

'See Life' opening this Sat, Oct. 11 at Known Gallery

This coming Saturday, October 11th,, 2014, Amandalynn, Tatiana Suarez, and Lady Mags will be exhibiting their newest creations at Known Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. This trio has been working hard to prepare a select body of work dedicated to the theme See Life. The artworks depict the curious nature of the world under and above water, including: creatures, enticing feminine deities, and waves of opulent color. All three artists are recognized by their fine art and extensive mural/graffiti work:

Tatiana Suarez’s art and murals depict enchanting, doe-eyed figures with luscious curves, ornamented by creatures and exotic plant life. She has the ability to draw the viewer into a beautiful and surreal world, using imagery that stems from her Brazilian and El Salvadorian heritage.
Lady Mags has been a graffiti writer since 2006, when she started painting tracksides in Chicago. She began creating abstract fine art pieces with watercolor several years ago, expressing beautiful compositions with sinuous pools of color. Recently, Mags has taken her learned knowledge of abstraction into mural works with Amandalynn, creating a fluid balance between fine art and street art.
Amandalynns artworks present the viewer with enticing female forms and enchanting creatures. She often collaborates with other artists to create large outdoor works, which include her sensual muses entwined with graffiti and other forms of street art. Amandalynn seeks to create seductive and pleasing depictions that leave the viewer always wanting more.

Alynn-Mags 'Live Outside' Mural Interview, Video, and Print Release

Last week Juxtapoz Magazine released an interview with Alynn-Mags about their recent collaboration with JanSport, a 3-story, huge mural in downtown SanFrancisco.  In the interview, Juxtapoz said: "Public art makes cities better...Amanda Lynn and Lady Mags planned, plotted, and painted one of the biggest murals in SF..."

Just a few days ago, JanSport released all eleven episodes documenting our progress: from the idea stage, to getting the wall at Civic Center Holiday Inn, through the trials and tribulations of painting something so huge, so fast (5 days) in the middle of the rainy season.  The final episode shows our happiness and relief at the unveiling mural party. We are very grateful for this opportunity to create, inspire, and exhibit our work in one of our most favorite cities - SF!

In honor of this incredible opportunity, we are releasing prints of the final 'Live Outside' mural. Two detail images and one of the full mural.

Amandalynn showing at Modern Eden

This coming Saturday, May 10th, 2014, I will be displaying my piece, 'Uncaged', in Modern Eden's International Group Exhibition, 'On Beauty'.

Modern Eden Gallery is pleased to announce On Beauty, a celebration of the aesthetic ideals of beauty. Many artistic movements throughout history have embraced the ideal of beauty as the truest form of art. Beginning with the classical era, whose artists in their constant pursuit of proportion and balance, sought beauty through the idealized form to the present day world of fashion and celebrity culture where beauty is all pervasive. Other artistic movements from Rococo through Romanticism, culminated in the artists of the Aesthetic movement, like Dante Rossetti, Albert Moore, and Lord Leighton, who, along with literary giants of the era like Wilde and Byron, sought the representation of beauty with the motto of ‘Art for art's sake’ where beauty was a primary value to be realized at all costs.

Featuring the beautiful works of Bec Winnel, Sergio Lopez, Sandra Yagi, Michael Cuffe, Christina Mrozik, Derek Harrison, Ania Tomicka, Emily Burns, Lyrica Glory, Kim Gordon, Jane Kenoyer, Daisy Church, Christina Lank, Lacey Bryant, Scott Holloway, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Lena Danya, Lien Truong, Natalia Pierandrei, Melissa Hartley, Jessica L.L Dalva, Catherine Moore,  Kristin Forbes-Mullane, Kristen Adam, Matthew Robertson, Steve "Primary" Hughes, Erica Calardo, JoKa, Layil Umbralux, Lara Dann, Carly Janine Mazur, Sherry DeLorme, Sakuna Daring, Jaclyn Alderete, Leilani Bustamante, Amandalynn, Adam Ziskie, and Cynda Valle.

The opening reception will be held at Modern Eden Gallery on Saturday, May 10th from 6-10pm. Select participating artists will be in attendance at the reception. The exhibition will be on display through June 7, 2014 and is free and open to the public.
