Hat Ladies
These are a series of sketches, paintings, and murals that I am doing in correlation with Goorin Bros. hat company. Two of them are featured this month in the 'Art of Goorin' window display and retail campaign in all 11 Goorin Hat shops. The first hat lady mural is painted in the Haight Sreet store and the second will be done in the revamped North Beach location in San Francisco.

Sculpture Restoration Project for Stanford
Just yesterday we finished up our latest sculpture restoration job for Stanford University's Cantor Arts Center, it is titled 'The Sieve of Eratosthenes' , the artist's name is Mark di Suvero. The sculpture is approximately 30ft tall and 40ft wide. With the help of some dedicated team members, Lucien Shapiro, Mike Nelson, Pete the Painter and myself, Amandalynn, we were able to primer, red paint, and clear coat this piece after is was completely sandblasted clean of all its previous finishes. Another tedious and strenuous task, but all worth it in the end, if you are ever in Palo Alto, stop by the Cantor Arts Center to see this piece unveiled as well as many other amazing sculptures they have around the campus.

PUSH solo show Oct. 23rd
One of my favorite artist's and friend is having his solo show called Divided Attention opening Saturday, October 23rd at Known Gallery in LA, I highly recommend checking it out, even if just online, more details below....
On October 23, 2010, PUSH's street-smart installations transform into gallery worthy paintings, celebrated by Known Gallery, Los Angeles until November 23, 2010. To mark the opening, PUSH will be painting larger than life feature installations both inside and outside on the façade of the gallery building.
A self-taught painter and sculptor, PUSH was inspired early on by skateboarding and the burgeoning west coast graffiti scene. He credits his friendship with fellow AWR/MSK crew member SABER as helping to define his path in life as well as shaping his art making work ethic.
In 2007, PUSH’s early work caught the eye of media sponsor, LA Weekly: “Trying to define Push’s work is unfair, and nearly impossible. It’s easier to say it’s like nothing else: informed by postmodern abstract splatter paintings, yet rigid, neon and precise. Introverted and quiet, he’s the thinking man’s graffiti artist.”
After his many years of global graffiti writing invitations and participation in numerous group exhibits, DividedAttention brings together PUSH’s latest paintings, debuting an evolved style and introducing a new, sophisticated color palette. When asked why it took so long for the Seventh Letter’s man of mystery to have his own show, he demurs. “I want to show something that is natural, balanced, and thought out. And timing is everything”
Opens to public: October 23rd, 2010
Runs: October 23rd - November 13th, 2010
Opening Reception: Saturday, Oct 23rd, 2010 at 8-11pm
