Morning Gloria for Precita Eyes

I just dropped off this piece as a donation to Precita Eyes, she is titled 'Morning Gloria'. I was asked to recreate a piece of a mural that is already in existence.  I chose an image from a collaboration mural that I am currently working on with my sister, Margaretta, in SF. This is donated for the annual Precita Eyes fundraiser, “Viva Muralismo”, and  takes place in the central gallery of the South of Market Cultural Center (SomArts), 934 Brannan Street (near 8th Street) in San Francisco. Precita Eyes and SomArts have a long-established relationship, and with enthusiastic support from SomArts staff and administration, the event is certain to be a great success. The 3,000 square foot gallery accommodates over 550 people. The program features both silent and live auctions

MATTY NO TIMES ART BENEFIT FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
On September 9, 2009, Matty No Times (Three Kings Tattoo) noticed that his legs had become severely swollen.  He went to an emergency room and three hours later, after multiple blood tests, was informed that he was in liver failure (see details below).  Now, about 8 months later, Matty is on his way back but is in severe financial debt.
A group of all star artists have joined together for a remarkable show to help Matty pay off his medical expenses.  The show will be at the YES Gallery (http://yesgalleryyes.com/) located at 147 India Street and Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint (Brooklyn) The exhibition will run from July 17th to July 23rd with a special opening reception on Saturday, July 17th from 5 - 10PM at YES Gallery with special Guest DJ Jesse Jones (Yuppicide).

ALL ART IS  $350 OR LESS, and raffle goodies from KCDC Skate Shop, Tattoo Elite International, Waverly Color Company and more. The goal of this exhibition is not only to support Matty No Times, but to also present a spectacular array of noted artists, allowing our friends and peers, art lovers and collectors to view and obtain works that are both affordable and of exceptional quality, and to do this while we help out our friend and colleague.   This is going to be an amazing, HUGE art exhibition with some incredible artists donating art. Don’t miss it!!

Morning Gloria Mural starts

My sis and I started a new mural today on the top of Mansel Street off of San Bruno Ave. in SF.  I am doing a new vixen with some morning glory flowers and Gretta is painting a collage of patterned umbrellas behind and all around my figure. Should be fun....

Julee commission mural beginning

My sister, Margaretta, and I started a new commission mural this weekend in Comerford alley off of 27th and Church in SF. I was approached by the client while painting another mural in the mission. He wanted to create a mural on the back of his building to memorialize his wife who recently has passed on. It was a beautiful day, and was topped off by a visit from my favorite female photographer and friend, Erin Ashford (who climbed up on the roof  to get some of her original shots) www.ErinAshford.com

Robert Berman / E6 Gallery is pleased to present MISSPELLED, an
alphabet by Victor Reyes, handmade in California. The ambitious
public art installation turned gallery exhibition explores the
artists’ unique approach to graffiti, by dissecting individual
letters and exploring the anatomy and architecture found in the
symbols we use to communicate. Inspired by San Francisco’s streets,
surfaces, and overall visual vibrancy, Reyes reinterprets the letters
and presents them to us in a brilliant array of color and movement.
These alphabets, recontextualized on various abandoned surfaces
around the city, are not intended to provide answers, but to raise
questions about how we interpret public spaces and the content
assumed within.

My friend, Oliver Fader, sent me this pic that he took of my Florida Vixen right before she got buffed out...
