I finished up a piece today on the Florida/17th wall that Lango and I collaborated on, he did the skull and I did up her hair do...and yes, that is bronze leaf on there, which was pretty crazy with the wind, but still fun.
My friend, mentor, and fellow artist, George Mead, came by the shop this week and took some cool photos of me for a new series of portrait paintings he is producing. These are few of them...you can see more of George's work at http://www.wetstudios.com
the bottom two pics are retouched by the amazing...Megan Shaffer...
After visiting my friend K, the genius jeweler from TSLArmor, I am trying again at making a new version of my skullwig lady pendant. He suggested I make it smaller...these are some new progress shots, more to come soon...
I now have two really nice versions of my 'Move A Head' image done in giclee prints. Each can be purchased separately, one facing the original direction, then a second mirroring the image. They are printed on a heavy watercolor paper and are 18"x24". They cost $60 each, however if purchased as a set, the total would equal $100. All prints come numbered, signed, and with and certificate of authenticity. Please contact Admin@Amandalynn.biz for inquiries.
Last night was the opening of a show curated by Reyes at the Modernism West Gallery in SF, held in conjunction with Foreign Cinema's 10 year anniversary. It was a beautiful night with great art, food, wine, and live performers. Artists that participated include: Reyes, Steel, Grime, Amandalynn, Saber, Matt Ritchie, Andy Statmiller, Shawn Barber, Push, Retna, Dylan Maddux, Nick Portalupi, Lango, Krush, Henry Lewis and more...
A couple of months ago I was commissioned to recreate my 'Silence' painting on a smaller scale, and just completed it last night. I am pleased with how it turned out and in some ways like certain qualities better than the original.
Then on Sunday had another beautiful day painting in sunny SF with Steel, Lango, and Reyes...The Mac and Ferm also have some cool pieces on the wall as well.
On Saturday afternoon I went out and repainted an old spot of mine on Folsom and 15th in SF, and decided to switch it up and do one of my skull wig ladies for a new twist on my outdoor ladies.
Later that night, I checked out Shawn Barber's new solo show at Shooting Gallery in SF, it is awesome and is definitely worth checking out his amazing new work...show is up until Sept. 8th.
After too long of a break on my large, 6.5ft x 9ft painting, titled 'Pacha Mama', I finally found some time after work to go up to our stained glass art studio and work on this piece. This is the result of last night's work...
