The opening night of 'Head over Heels', my first SF solo show was spectacular. One of the best parts of the opening were the amazing floral displays by Renee Fontana. 'Head over Heels' will be on display throughout the month of July with a closing reception on July 23rd. For more info please contact Cassel Gallery.

LA Art Machine by finishing up a piece that I started during the Hollywood Art and Design walk a couple of months ago. I got to work in their great gallery space which hosts an amazing wooden sculpture by Gustavo Godoy. On Saturday I went with my LA fam to check out the 'Art in the Streets' exhibit at the Moca, and was blown away. Then ended the weekend with a Sunny father's day BBQ. All in all, a great weekend.....

So I painted and wore my golden heels the night of the opening, but I also decorated a second pair of heels for Megan Shaffer to wear the night of the opening. Both pairs will be on display at the gallery for the rest of the show. Cassel Gallery is open Thursday - Saturday, check website for hours, etc www.CasselGallery.com
Prairie Prince also painted and customized his own set of heels and Renee Fontana adorned them with flowers and feathers for the opening

Amandalynn will be displaying all new works in her upcoming solo show, 'Head over Heels'. Inspired by silent film actresses and showgirls of the 1920's-40's, Amandalynn pays tribute to these women by capturing them in provocative yet classy portraits. She will be accompanied by floral artist and designer, Renee Fontana, who will also be paying homage to this era by drawing inspiration from British educator and florist, Constance Spry. Amandalynn will also be collaborating on pieces with one of her favorite photographers, Erin Ashford, who will be contributing pieces from her continuing queer burlesque series from the South. This particular set of imagery was inspired by Josephine Baker of the Harlem Renaissance. Other contributing artists include : Megan Shaffer, Margaretta, Prairie Prince, Christa Baker, and Susan Grazier. The opening reception will take place at the Cassel Gallery in San Francisco on Saturday, June 4th, 2011, from 8pm-11pm and the show will open for viewing the entire month of June. Please contact Amandalynn ( Alynnpaint@gmail.com ) or Monique ( CasselGallery@goorin.com ) for more information.
